Arne Slot has made one change to his Liverpool starting XI against Aston Villa from the one that started against Wolverhampton Wanderers three days ago.

Liverpool is without Joe Gomez and Cody Gapko for the trip to Villa Park - a game rearranged from mid-March due to the Reds’ progress to the Carabao Cup final.



Diogo Jota started started his first league game in nearly four months at the weekend, but the Portugal international retains his place in the side.

Liverpool heads to Villa seven points clear of second-place Arsenal and, after playing over two months with a game in hand on the Gunners, it's Slot’s side who will have played an extra match following the midweek fixture.

The Villa match is the first encounter in a difficult week for Liverpool, with a trip to Manchester City to follow on Saturday

Villa hasn’t lost a home game in the Premier League since August but approaches the match without a win in four league outings.

The trip to Villa is the third match in a run of five games in just 15 days for Liverpool, a period which equates to around 13 percent of the season.
